Eddie Young Builds Good Characters!!
There's nothing that I enjoy more than creating characters from the description from a client. Whether it be for a logo, t-shirt design, animated character or for a children's book.
As you can see from the samples on this page, I specialize in humorous characters for kids and grownups. Everything I do is hand drawn and painted digitally. I've taken my skills from 10 years of airbrushing, back in the 90's to my computer. I believe this gives me the best of both worlds.

Licensed Characters
Other People's Characters!
Sometimes it's important to create artwork using a licensed character. This means following a "model sheet" to keep the integrity of an existing character.
I've worked for Disney, Warner Bro's, Mattel toys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to name a few. These projects were great to learning how to capture the look and feel of characters that many people have grown to love over the years. Staying on model is very important.
I have used these skills for creating original characters too. Sometimes, like in a children's book the same characters appear again and again, so they have to be on model.

Cute and Cuddly Artwork
Artwork for kids is a delight and a joy to do. I've love cartoons and humorus illustration all of my life.
I've had many mentors over the years that shared their secrets and critiqued my work. This was the best education I could ask for.
I've had a few student's over the years too, which has been very rewarding.
